The
Malvern Table Tennis League has been running for 60 years.
We are affiliated to the English Table Tennis Association (ETTA) and
the Worcestershire Table Tennis Association.
Our
league currently comprises 24 teams who compete in
two divisions of varying standards and ages.
We
also run coaching sessions
for all ages from 6 upwards on a Sunday night with 4 ETTA qualified
coaches. These sessions have been successful in bringing many players
into the Malvern League and some have gone on to represent Worcestershire
and have also participated in Grand Prix events nationally.
Every
year the league holds its annual championships at Malvern Theatres
(surely one of the best venues in the country) with many different competitions
which players can participate in. There is also a large spectator area
for those who are not playing.
The league also holds social events such
as quiz nights which are open not only to members of the league but
also their families and friends, proving that the Malvern
Table Tennis League is not just a sports organisation but is also a
community with everybody joining in. This is highlighted by the fact
that the league is run by a dedicated team of hard working individuals
who voluntarily give up their free time to raise the profile of our
sport.
During the season press coverage of the league, including match
results, reports and league tables, regularly appears in The Malvern
Gazette and Ledbury Reporter on Fridays.
If you are interested in joining our league
or in the coaching sessions, please do not hesitate to contact the League
Secretary, Richard Cullis, on 01905 426442.
